More Thumb-nailing!

This time with the thumbnails i only used one kind of shape for each of them.

Back to the drawing board!

This idea was starting to bug me, no matter where i took it, it didn't seem right. The body always just seemed to feel cluttered due to the large number of shapes i used. I had to go back to the thumbnails and try again.

Further development!

I chose my favourite figure thumbnail and started to design my character on it, looking into different themes to see what would work best.

More face design

Now I had chosen my character face to be circular, I was able to work with a couple of features like hair, eyes and nose. I want to keep the rounded beard as its friendly looking and anything to rough might add too much aggression to his personality.

More figure design

Went back a bit towards the figure design and chose to only use a circular head as I had decided that was probably the most friendly and best suited shape. I was then able to play around with the body shape, taking clothing into account (e.g trench coats).

Mr Square

My first attempt at making a character template based of one shape, the square.

Face and Figure design

I've started my new character design with a little bit of simple thumb nailing and sketching. My character based on Phileas Fogg is a nice, well-spoken British man. A triangular face will not work in this case as it is quite an aggressive and pointy shape.
